Who We Are

Why Wellspring?

Wellspring has been serving Michigan’s children and families since 1893—more than 130 years of showing up, learning and growing. We are accredited by the Council on Accreditation and hold ourselves to nationally recognized standards of care. We serve people of all faiths and of no faith. Our only work is here, in Michigan.

When you partner with us—whether as a foster parent, a volunteer, a neighbor, or a community advocate—you join something that has deep roots and a long view. Our goal is always family preservation first: giving birth families the time, space and support they need to heal, while their children are safe in a caring home. When that work succeeds, we help reunite families. When it doesn’t, we find permanency for children. We never stop working for kids.
